Something for me? You shouldn't have. But please, leave it here.

Sarah's starting to wonder if working at the ARC turned her into some kind of hermit, what with the way she's been acting since coming to Tabula Rasa. The days all blur together, and she realises she can't remember the last time she made a conscious effort to visit the people knows here, instead of limiting herself to random encounters.

Time to change that, she tells herself. It would be easier if she could ring people up, see if they were up for some company, or maybe stopping at the Winchester for a bit. She doesn't even know who she'll find at home. Still, it would be nice to drop by and say hello to Matt and Emily. Or maybe Joan. See how everyone's been fairing between the people hallucinating and those who lost their memories for a time.

The walk from New Atlantis to Green Arrow Estates is uneventful, but not in the least unpleasant - this is a tropical island, after all, and even after months it hasn't lost something of the feel of a holiday, if a strange one. Sarah's just coming up on the cottages when she sees Joan up ahead.

She waves, smiling with her bright, "Hello!" A lift of her eyebrow seems to ask if this is a good time, or if she should continue on after their hellos, so Joan can get on with what she's doing.

The bookshelf had insisted on giving Sarah nothing but Hawass, the whole Hawass, and nothing but Hawass, and it hadn't taken too long for Sarah to convince herself to reclaim her day. Lucky for her, she lived on a tropical island. A day at the beach sounded like just the way to relax.

If she decided to give one of Hawass' papers people's idea of a traditional Viking funeral, well, that was a little catharsis between her and the waves. Sarah sat on the damp sand just at the edge of the tide line, and carefully folded one page at a time into an origami boat. Then a quick touch of her lighter to the highest point, and she set the tiny vessel into the water to be carried out and away as the wave receded. Then again with the next page.

It was...nice. Just what she needed. A quiet stretch of beach, just enough breeze to tug at the ends of her ponytail and let the mist from the waves cool her skin, the sun to warm it again. She let her mind wander as her hands worked, and paid little attention to anything else.

From all Sarah's seen, there is a truly wide variety of people living on the island, but it also seems like she has a fair amount in common with more people than she was used to outside of the museum. Daniel has been especially good at mentioning people she should meet, and while she wasn't trying to meet them all at once, it was one aspect of learning and living on the island.

One person she'd been wanting to meet since Daniel had told her about him was Bill Weasley, and Sarah decided the easiest way to do that was to head over to the school around the time his Egyptian history class was getting out. Hopefully he wouldn't be in too big of a hurry to get anywhere, and it would be both easy to find him and to start a conversation since he'll have just finished teaching on what they have in common.

While she waited, Sarah flipped through Helen's journal for about the thousandth time, knowing it wouldn't do the team back home any good - unless or until she went home - but she still wanted to understand the woman and her insanity better. Besides, it gave her something to do so it didn't look quite so obvious she was waiting for someone, even though she was, and she was still able to keep an eye out for long red hair pulled back into a ponytail.

Joan's lovely, and Sarah's glad of the time they've had to talk before Emily and Matt return home. Normally she wouldn't want to get another's perspective on people before she's had a chance to get to know them for herself, but she's a bit...nervous, actually, when it comes to Matt and Emily, who, as Joan mentioned, already know of her from others. It's easier, in some ways, meeting someone altogether new. But they are Sarah's only connection to the ARC, and nerves or not, she's looking forward to getting to know them both.

It's coincidentally good timing - or else the island strangeness has a kind side as well - that Emily returns home just as tea and conversation with Joan are coming to a natural pause, and Sarah's smile is thanks and greeting both.

Sarah didn't mean to take so long to seek out Matt again. But after finding out the version of her still at home had died on a mission, she'd wanted some time to think before getting to know teammates who weren't the team she knew. Next thing she knows, almost a week has gone by since the Council party, and she still hasn't gone to visit Matt and Emily.

At least, after meeting Matt, she understands why Daniel had asked if she knew someone named Emily. Now it's past time she introduces herself to her only connection to the ARC.

Matt had told her where they were living, so instead of Sarah's random wanderings around the island, this afternoon, she has a destination in mind. When she gets there, she takes a slow, deep breath, then, before she loses her nerve, knocks.

And hopes, sincerely hopes, she's at the right place.
